NYC Q01/Q99 Details

The NYC Refrigeration License (Q-01/Q-99) is required to work as a watch engineer, stationary engineer, custodian or superintendent in most large residential, commercial, industrial and institutional facilities in New York City, but it is recognized throughout the United States.   • The 2-part exam is given by the FDNY in Brooklyn, NY at 9 Metrotech

  • The Written Exam is a 110-question multiple choice exam, which cost $60

  • The Practical Exam is a 50-question interactive simulator, and cost $225

  • 70% is required to pass both the Written and the Practical

  • Anyone who fails the Practical 3 times must retake the Written Exam

Qualifications

  • You must be over 18

  • You must have a High School Diploma or GED

  • You must have the EPA 608 Universal License (included in Tauris Tech course)
