NYC Q01/Q99 Details
The NYC Refrigeration License (Q-01/Q-99) is required to work as a watch engineer, stationary engineer, custodian or superintendent in most large residential, commercial, industrial and institutional facilities in New York City, but it is recognized throughout the United States. The 2-part exam is given by the FDNY in Brooklyn, NY at 9 Metrotech
The Written Exam is a 110-question multiple choice exam, which cost $60
The Practical Exam is a 50-question interactive simulator, and cost $225
70% is required to pass both the Written and the Practical
Anyone who fails the Practical 3 times must retake the Written Exam
Qualifications
You must be over 18
You must have a High School Diploma or GED
You must have the EPA 608 Universal License (included in Tauris Tech course)
You must complete an FDNY approved 200-hour course
