The Tauris Training app

Every course is studied here.

Video lessons, chapters and quizzes, the documents the FDNY asks for, and a Simulator built to match the practical exam. On Android, iPhone and iPad, Mac and Windows, on demand, around whatever hours the job leaves you.

No card required.

The Simulator

The Z-52 practical is a Simulator exam.

So the course puts you in one.

  • Answer Practical questions by finding the part in the room, not by picking A, B, C, or D.

  • Take evaporator, condenser, and oil pressures off the panel, the way the exam asks.

  • Hide the casing and look inside, at the coil, the blower, and the piping behind it.

Real room, not diagrams

You walk through the room before you walk into it.

The mechanical rooms in the app are built from real New York City buildings.

  • Boiler rooms

  • Centrifugal chillers

  • Reciprocating chillers

  • Pump rooms and switchgear

What else is in it

Beyond the Simulator

Tauris AI

Ask about any component inside the Simulator and get an answer without leaving the exercise.

Practice that counts

On the Q-01, time in the Simulator counts toward the 200 hours the FDNY requires.

Lessons and documents

Video, chapters and quizzes, with the forms and reference material the FDNY asks for kept in the same place.

The student group

A group chat runs alongside the course, so questions get answered between lessons.

Four platforms

Install it on whatever you already own.

Android, iPhone and iPad, Mac or Windows. Start on the phone at work and pick it up on the laptop at home.

Every course, in one app.

Every course Tauris Tech sells is in here, from a fire guard certificate to the Q-01.
