On the equipment
What you walk out able to do
Put a meter on it and read what it says
Components, motors and capacitors, and knowing which reading means the part is good and which means it is finished.
Follow the diagram to the fault
Every panel is a circuit, and the diagram inside the door is how you trace it to the part that has failed.

3 HVAC Excellence certifications
- Air Conditioning. Air conditioning and refrigeration theory, equipment service, systems and components, troubleshooting, and refrigerant flow control theory and application.
- Electricity for HVAC. Components, meter usage, safety, theory, troubleshooting, motors and capacitors, and interpreting electrical diagrams.
- System Diagnostics and Troubleshooting. Recovery requirements, air conditioning and refrigeration theory, air supply and delivery, equipment and tools, systems and components, and evacuation.
The fault nobody else found
A unit that will not start has to be proved dead before anybody replaces anything. Being the one who can do that with a meter is the difference between a call closed and a call handed on.
Training a crew
Group pricing, invoicing and purchase orders, and an activity report for every seat.
The next class starts October 17.
